How Colours CMS works
You can place widgets on your web page based on a pre defined grid system. Each web site may consist of several selectable grids depending on your site's content and functionality.
A page or article provides the ability to customize the layout based on the selected grid.
A widget can be a image, a text block, a slideshow, a video, a feed or other available widgets like a form or a map.
Wysiwyg editing of all text content
Selecting the text option inserts a text block with a headline and some example text, both of which can be modified. You can change font sizes, styles, set alignments, add hyperlinks, and more, all without leaving the page you're editing. Changes will automatic be saved as a draft, ready to be published whenever your done.
Inserting images to your web page
Images can be placed on the page in the same grid as all other widgets. Just upload your image, and insert it to any block on the page. You can even and scale and crop the image for the perfect result. We take care of the rest, assuring you the file size is optimised for the web. And dont worry, the original image is saved in your file manager for reuse on other pages.
Enhance your web page with a video
If you want to have a video that will play right in your web page, you can use the video widget. It can be placed on any page, and supports all video controls like fullscreen view, volume control etc. Use your Youtube or Vimeo video by linking it to your file manager, or upload your own web ready video - and insert it with ease.
A visual representation of an area
The word "map" comes from the medieval Latin Mappa mundi, wherein mappa meant napkin or cloth and mundi the world. Thus, "map" became the shortened term referring to a 2 dimensional representation of the surface of the world.
The map widget in Colours CMS uses Google Map API for easily creating and inserting maps to your site.
Create a slideshow
With the slideshow widget you can insert stunning slideshows on your web page. Just hit the Slideshow button, select your images from the file manager and your all done.
A Content aggregation widget
The feed widgets allows you to create a feed aggregation of existing content from your site. You can create a list of articles, events, files, pages or adding an external RSS feed of content to your page.
A feed needs somthing to feed the beast, so first of all you need some content to aggregate. Articles is the most used content for feeds on any site, but you can also aggregate files, pages, images etc.
It is easy to create a feed on any page, just insert a feed widget and select the feed based on tags.
Build your custom form
You have your website set up with all the necessary features, but what about customer feedback? You have to be prepared to field the questions and concerns of your users, and nothing really does that better than a form. In one simple form, you can open your business up to constant feedback.
Use the form widget to create forms that fits you and your company's needs.
